CSM RFC

Tremough Campus, Penryn ,
CSM RFC welcomes anyone studying at the Tremough Campus who would like to take part in competitive rugby, University of Exeter and University College Falmouth students. We currently compete in the Tribute Cornwall League with a 1st XV. We're also hoping to organise friendly matches for a 2nd XV for next year. CSM RFC welcomes those of all abilities. Obviously a rugby club is only as good as it's social side. don't worry, we've got that all sorted and will be having regular socials throughout the year, with a LARGE one to kick the season off in style, probably during fresher's fortnight. We've got our own website but it hasn't been updated for this season coming yet, will keep everyone posted. Meanwhile here's the FXU's page for us: http://www.fxu.org.uk/rugby The layout for results are quite confusing, but its our score-opposition's for all home and away games. Any freshers wanting to know any more, just add/message me (Alex Cox) and i'll get back to you. Training for next year TBC, will keep you posted.

C.S.M. Football Club

Tremough Campus, Treliever Road, Penryn ,
Camborne School of Mines F.C are members of the local Trelawney League - Division 1, playing competitive Saturday football in locations all around West Cornwall. Though under the banner of Camborne School of Mines, both students from the University of Exeter and University College Falmouth are eligible to play, and every year there is a diverse mix of students from both institutions. Camborne School of Mines is a footballing side steeped in tradition and rivalry, with entry to three cups and two varsity matches; including the Old Boys Barrel match, and the infamous Bottle Match against the Royal School of Mines from Imperial College. Following the success of the 2011/2012 season – retaining the Bottle Match Trophy, winning the Trelawny League Cup, and finishing 7th in the league; there is a realistic chance of promotion and they hope to push for the title. History: The CSM vs. RSM Bottle Match is the second oldest varsity match in the UK, beginning in 1899 and taking place every year alternately in Cornwall and London. This year the 112th anniversary match will be held in Cornwall. The name 'Bottle' was acquired in the 1960s when the Trophy became a large bottle. The Bottle Match is the pinnacle of every season for every club at CSM, and the event is always a great occasion. Last year C.S.M. FC beat R.S.M. FC 3-2 in London in a captivating encounter.
