So the idea of this is to bring the community of East Kilbride together and do something positive this new year...by creating a new music scene in EK! All ages who want to bring their skills to the table can get experience from either playing an instrument,singing, socialising etc. Also this is an opportunity for journalists, photographers, sound engineers, event organisers, broadcasters and film makers etc. The list is wide. The aim for this idea is to create a group of people who want to meet up once a month in a venue in east kilbride and showcase musical talent and have the opportunity to meet like minded people in EK. There is not a lot of opportunity in this town at the moment for a wide variety of ages and people to meet up and do what they do best. Also another idea is to set up a youtube channel showing what the people of East Kilbride have to offer...and maybe one day we can all get the funding to get our own venue in east kilbride to create an brighter future for the arts. About Me My name is Laura Taylor born and raised in East Kilbride Glasgow. I've always had a creative streak, throughout primary school years, I was always drawing and doodling, taking part in art classes drawing on the back of napkins anything I could to be creative. After completing secondary school that was when I knew I had a keen interest and passion for the fashion industry and applied to study fashion design at Heriot- Watt University in Galashiels. I spent the next four Years studying in Galashiels learning and meeting friends for life and finally graduated in June 2012 with a BA Honours in Fashion Design For Industry receiving a Second Class Degree (Upper Division) 2.1. Since graduating I have been busy designing and creating garments for both myself and friends and family and feel I now ready to start my own business with bespoke garments and alterations. From design to creation. If you have a deign idea and would like to make this a reality make an appointment today to discuss your options and create your one off pieces. THE PROCESS First Meeting. Your initial meeting will be to discuss your design idea, discussing potential fabrics, colours, style and fit of your chosen piece. Measurements will also be taken at this stage. Second Meeting. After having made a clear decision on the style, shape and fit of the garment I will have drawn up a sketch/computer drawing so that you can visualise your chosen piece. First Fitting. This stage makes the whole process worth it, when your design becomes a reality. The paper pattern will have been completed and a mock up of your garment will have been constructed ready for you to try on. This will be your first fitting. Any alterations will be made at this point. If you are unhappy with the style or fit please do not hesitate to mention. This is the most crucial stage of the development of your garment where changes can easily be made. Second Fitting. Any alterations made at the first fitting will have been made and a second mock up garment constructed.The process will continue until you are happy with the final piece. A discussion about the fabric choice and ordering will take place ready for your final garment to be made. Third Fitting/Final Fitting At this stage your final garment will be prepared for you to try on. Minor alterations can be made at this point. If you are happy with your piece/garment arrangements will be made for payment and collection. PRICING Pricing will be discussed in the initial meeting. The price of your garment/s will depend on the style, fabric choice and complexity of your chosen design. Every garment will have different price.
