Sometimes in life you just have to stop, take stock and restart all over again and that's exactly what we are doing here at Aces Bridgend. Formally known as the gay disco under the guise of Gay Bridgend, the monthly event was sadly forced to close its doors in April 2013 amidst much hostility and tension! We won’t go in to the ins and outs here as what is done is done and unfortunately can’t be undone, but since closing its doors a group of liked minded and committed individuals have come together and formed a new committee (please see our website for committee member details) to oversee the re-launch and continued success of the monthly LGBT events at Bridgend’s Conservative Club. After much deliberation we decided upon Aces as the ‘new’ name to re-launch the monthly event. Perhaps familiar to some of you, the Aces name was used back in the day to organise and host LGBT events in Porthcawl, a hugely successful and popular mainstay in its day. We thought it would be a fitting tribute to those past and present who have poured their time, energy, hard work and efforts into promoting and championing our local LGBT community, to reintroduce the Aces name to help us bring back an event that our community has enjoyed for many years. Our aim at Aces is and always will be to provide our community with a safe, welcoming environment in which to meet up and socialise in. Along the way we’ll be playing host to some fantastic acts and artists to help keep you all entertained and as per usual there will be great prices and offers at the bar! With a new committee focused on doing right by you, we have been working very hard behind the scenes and are determined to get things right this time round!
