Located on the outskirts of historic Langport , the centre for the Somerset Levels, Hamdown View offers a delightful view across fields as far as the eye can see. It looks out across lush farmland directly onto the site of the English Civil War battlefield of the Battle Of Langport of 1645, and beyond to the horizon where the church of Long Sutton can be seen.
Somerton, the medieval town and former capital of ancient Wessex is only 2 miles away, three minutes in the car (a few minutes longer on bicycle – we have a couple that you are welcome to borrow) will bring you to the middle of Langport where you can begin your exploration of the fascinating Somerset Moors known (aka the Levels), or a short drive away is the mystical town of Glastonbury. In an area steeped in history there is no shortage of places to visit.
Jane and John promise a warm welcome, luxury accommodation , super soft bed, exclusive use of bathroom and shower, TV and kettle in the rooms, free Wifi and a glorious view of the Somerset countryside.
With ingredients carefully selected from local suppliers, you can enjoy breakfast in the Dining Room, or take it in the Garden Roomfor a more private / intimate meal.
Evening meals are also available by prior arrangement.
