Eyton Races - Point-to-Point - Official Page
South Shropshire Hunt Point to Point - Monday 1st April, 2013
North Shropshire Hunt Point to Point - Monday 6th May, 2013
This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy amateur National Hunt Racing at the highest level and to see some of tomorrow’s stars of Cheltenham in the early stages of their career!
In addition to the excitement of the races and betting with bookmakers, there will be a fairground, food stalls, licensed bar and trade stands.
This year, for the first time, there will also be a prize for the Best Dressed Lady Racegoer. The organisers are hoping that ladies will dress up for the occasion and wear hats, too. Mystery judges from Majors, which has ladies and menswear shops in Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Bridgnorth and Welshpool, will mingle with the crowd between 12pm and 2pm and select a winner. They will present a £300 clothes voucher to the winner after the first race.
This year, there will also be changes to the food providers and the organisers are creating a ‘celebration of Shropshire food,’ with carefully selected local food vendors selling delicious local produce. Food stands include a hog roast from Castlemoor Farm, sausages and burgers from Fordhall Farm, rotisserie chicken and raclette from Roaming Rotisserie, cakes and meringues from The Little Round Cake Company and handmade chocolates from Bonboniere. Aroma will have a stand selling coffee.
There will also be a number of trade stands selling a wide range of items, including country clothing, garden furniture and equine accessories.
The gate opens at 12pm, with the first race taking place at 2pm and the last race at 5.40pm. Admission is £10 per person and free for under 12s. Car parking is free.
