Well... No, not really. It would be nice to think that everyone would drive the way they were taught to pass a driving test, but in reality that does not happen. My First Aim... is to teach you how to correctly control the car and to give you the skills and ability to improvise when needed. Not everything will be rehearsed and not everything will be obvious. But with my guidance, you will gain the experience to deal with whatever the road throws at you. My Second Aim... is to get you up to a consistent level of driving so that you can drive around a complete test route without losing concentration and making silly mistakes. That said... Here's what I will be teaching you... in "10 Simple Steps". If you have already done some driving, take a look and see how far you've got. That will give you some idea how far you have left to go before taking your driving test. Step 1: Basic Controls of the Car - How to Pull-Away - How to Change Gear - and How to Park. Step 2: Basic Junctions. The T-Junction or Give Way Junction - How to perform the Left Turn both in to and out of a side-road. Step 3: How to perform Right Turns at T-Junctions. Step 4: Traffic Lights and Roundabouts. Step 5: Bigger, Busier Roads and Junctions. This is the stage where You Really Start Learning To Drive. Steps 6 - 9: Set Piece Manoeuvres. The six manoeuvres I'll teach you are: 1. The Turn in the Road 2. Reverse around a Left-Hand Corner 3. Reverse Park on the Road 4. Reverse Park in a Car Park (...to the Left) 5. Reverse Park in a Car Park (...to the Right) & 6. The Emergency Stop Step 10: Dual-Carriageways - Slip-Roads - Multiple-Lane Roundabouts. So there you have it... Are you ready to take a Driving Test? Let's find out... I'll take you up to Abergavenny or Brecon Driving Test Centre and put you through a 'Mock Test'. I'll make it as realistic as possible - just giving directions, no instruction - and we'll go around one of the Official Driving Test Routes. I'll mark you just as the Driving Test Examiner would and we'll find out if you are ready to PASS Practice... Practice... Practice... These are the three most important words. The Mock Test has 'probably' shown up your weaknesses, so let's put it right. When you can complete a route without making 'silly' mistakes then... You Are Ready To Go For Your Driving Test... For Real. Please be aware that I DO NOT force you to learn all this in 10 HOURS. You can work through the 10 steps at your own pace. Some steps will take less than an hour but others may take 3 or 4 hours to complete. I WILL NOT hold you back, but neither will I push you if you're not ready. Most of my pupils reach the required standard in around 20 to 30 hours, but as you are an individual, I can't say how many you will personally need to pass that test, that will naturally depend on your own ability and willingness to learn.
