A not-for-profit second-hand bookshop and community hub, encouraging reading at the heart of community. Once overheads are paid (including a wage for the full-time manager), profits will go to local charities or other local causes or back into the business - the bookshop space will be used for events to bring the community together, and some funds will be used to make these happen. The bookshop will comprise (subject to space!): Quality-driven second-hand book stock – selling any and every kind of book, with a service for tracking down books we don’t have Second-hand DVDs and CDs and vinyl records A writing space – quiet area where writers (or readers!) can rent a desk A few armchairs to aid browsing Evening events – talks, readings, workshops, music events, a film club and more Literary events Competitions – literary quizzes, raffles with prizes from local businesses Story reading afternoons for children Coffee and tea available, or you can bring your own Lots more… We might also be able to offer a regular meeting space for groups – if you are interested, contact victoria@treehousebookshop.co.ukto discuss this.
