Gillingham Foodbank (Dorset)
The Gillingham Foodbank is an initiative of the Trussell Trust which is a Christian charity founded in Salisbury. The Gillingham Foodbank is coordinated by members of four of the Gillingham Churches. Our aim is to provide families or individuals of Gillingham and the surrounding areas in financial crisis with enough food to last for 3 days that is nutritionally balanced. Vouchers are usually given to people in need by designated referrers such as GPs or Health Visitors, which can then be exchanged for an emergency foodbox. This initiative is a short term remedy for clients while long term solutions are put in place.
