Bryn y Cwm is the northern part of the Welsh county of Monmouthshire, centered on Abergavenny and including the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The area has a population of over 20,000. The Bryn y Cwm Community Forum was established as an independent body in 2003 by Monmouthshire County Council. It was the council’s wish that the people of Abergavenny and surrounding area should have a platform from which their views could be heard.

The Saint Michael’s Centre is a community centre serving all of Abergavenny, funded through a combination of public funds and profits generated through the business activities of the centre Home to the Abergavenny Volunteer Bureau
