Blakehill PTFA (Parent, Teacher & Friends Association)

We are a group of teachers, parents and friends of Blakehill primary school, we meet informally in the school staffroom, usually once a month. We raise money to support school, in making our children's lives better and enhance their learning. Some of the things we have helped school with in the past are; interactive whiteboards in every classroom, lighting equipment for the school drama club, developing the outdoor play provision, subsidsing school trips, buying Year 6 children a leaving present. Last year we paid for a xmas pantomime for all the children in school, we bought a new cooker for Reception class and we contributed towards the cost of the new key stage 2 (years 3, 4, 5 & 6) home reading books. Our annual events are a Xmas Fayre, Summer Fair, a themed school disco every term and a Mother and Father's day stall. Being a PTFA member does mean giving up some of your precious time, but it is a great way to meet other parents, teachers and support your child during their time at Blakehill, it can also be a lot of fun!
