Magherafelt Young Performers Society
Mid-Ulster Music Society was founded in May 2011 and was later renamed Magherafelt Young Performers Society in June 2012. It offers the youth of Magherafelt the opportunity to perform through acting, dancing and singing. We always welcome any new members to the society, we are also always in need for anyone that would be interested in backstage work; so if you would like to help out in some way but not through performance that would be greatly appreciated. We often frequently work with live musicians so if you play an instrument and are interested in getting involved with the Society feel free to get in touch as we generally make original arrangements for our productions so all musicians are welcome!
The Society's first production was "Best of Broadway" which was a musical-theatre concert, held on 16th September 2011, in St. Mary's Grammar School, featuring a cast of over 20 and a live 15-piece orchestra. Our next production was a variety concert called "The Voice'" held on the 2nd March 2012 in the Marina Centre Ballyronan.
Our next production is "Hits from Hollywood", it will be a music concert similar to Best of Broadway but with a theme of music from the movies and will be accompanied by a live band throughout.This concert will take place on the 15th September 2012 and will be held in the Burnavon Theatre Cookstown; tickets for this event can be purchased at the box office (02886769949) or on the Burnavon website (www.burnavon.com).
