Chorley Ladies Rounders Team - This team was set up in the Bolton Rounders league in 1972, and is still playing in the Bolton Rounders League. (Which has approx 15 leagues with approx 10 teams in each league, and 11 players in each team...so lots of players!) Shortly after this time advertisements were placed for new players. Val was one of those replying, and joined an already established team, (with Gloria already a member and now the longest player.) Both have been playing regularly in the team since then. The team also set up a small rounders league in the Chorley area, which played in Astley Park, but is no longer in existence. Chorley Ladies team also organised a Rounders tournament for teams from the Bolton League, held for many years on Parklands School sports field. (Enjoyed by many who gained many trophies over the years.) The team now play home matches on a Monday night at Albany High School, and other matches in the Bolton area, from April to August. The Bolton League also has competive matches for over 45's and for over 60's! ....not to be argueed with or put down if you ever play against them!
