Hello Everyone, we are a mother and daughter team (Jo 50 & Laura 21) caring for early years (up to 5yrs only) we currently care for 14 children overall throughout the week. We care for early years only rather than all ages as we feel confident that by doing this we can offer a safer setting and give more attention to the needs of this delicate age. We offer a safe, clean, fun and caring home giving lots of praise and implement EYFS "letters and sounds" phonics by way of games, art work, story telling and lots of action songs along with enjoying natural surroundings to increase vocabulary and listening skills. Below we have each written a little about us for you to get more of a feel for us both individually. As there are 2 of us (registered childminders) and our apprentices we can play and organise activities in small groups when needed but children also get a chance to interact with others in a group as we are allowed up to 6 early years children between us, 0f which only 3 children under 1yr at any one time. This is a good first step between home with Mammy and starting a school nursery. Each child has a daily diary and a tracking system in place called our 'Learning Journey' to follow progress and development. When children come in they find their individual animal name magnet on the fridge as part of our self-registration. We also arrange special days such as Teddy Bear Tea parties, fun days etc for the children along with charity fundraiser nights ("Save the Children") for parents/grandparents and friends to come along to. At Chirstmas our playroom magically turns into a grotto and we have a visit from Santa...with the real Santa suit!! We have a wide range of activities that we do with the children, too many to name but here are just some of the activities we do in our Playroom and our new Early Years Learning Classroom for children 2 years + allowing children more independence, small childrens furniture and allowing us to do more activities such as: Music & Dance which all the children thoroughly enjoy with all our instruments and our Tumble Tots DVD! YOGA - We teach the children simple and easy yoga moves to follow which supports our "Healthy Living" topic. Arts & Crafts, the children are always excited for Arts & Crafts with our good quality materials making hot air balloons, rabbits, Rainbow Bookworms, Dotty Dragonflies, farm animals, arts and crafts supporting different religions, a wide range of christmas arts and crafts...we even get orders to give as presents for Grandparents! Laura has a fantastic imagination and is always coming up with new ideas. Parents are always very impressed with what the children bring home! Letters & Sounds - we teach childreen Letters and Sounds leading up to nursery as this makes your child alot more confident when going to nursery and it helps give them a head start! Playtime - we have lots of fun in the garden on the slide/cars/playhouse and much much more...we are going to be transforming our garden into an even more child friendly and all weather garden with child safety bark. We often take the children on outings where we don't ask for any other fees its all included in the price, our favourite places to go is the park and soft play! Baking - we always make lots of yummy treats when we bake: biscuits, cakes, pizza, burgers, fruit salads and much more suitable for all dietry needs! Soft Play - we like to go to soft play and let out all of our energy, we always go into the soft play with the children to make it a really fun experience. Festivals - We celebrate lots of festivals through the year including Christmas, Chinese New Year, Diwali, Budda Day, Harvest, Easter... Feel free to give us a call anytime to arrange an informal visit, no decisions need to be made on your visit. We have been awarded "Good" and an "Outstanding" from Ofsted plus 5 stars from Environmental Health. Hope to hear from you and will answer any questions you may have.
