Tea Times
A few years ago our daughter wished to have a “vintage tea party†at her wedding. We thought it seemed such a good idea to offer guests an afternoon champagne tea on arrival at the venue, so that they could relax, sit down and enjoy the wait for the arrival of the bride and groom.
It took about a year to collect the vintage china, cutlery, tablecloths and in fact everything we needed for the tea party. The theme was very much “English country garden†so it is all very pretty and delicate. Most of the china dates from the 1930s and 1940s but some is Victorian and nothing is later than 1960. It was decided that rather than have a mix and match theme each guest would have a trio of matching china, that is cup, saucer and plate. We were able to buy some complete tea sets but also have many individual trios.
All the china and accessories are now available to hire. We can provide for around 150 people and are really enjoying helping to create those traditional afternoon teas which are so much part of our heritage.
