At the Mouthwatering Pork Company we love our pigs! We also love our pork, (and bacon... and sausages.... and crackling...!!!) We believe that pigs should enjoy a good quality of life so at our piggery they are free to forage in their outdoor enclosure. There they can root around, play and create their own wallows all day long, as well as the odd snooze, what a life!
Pigs are affectionate, sociable animals, so we keep them in small family groups, all of their lives. They are rotated regularly to allow the ground foliage to recover, providing ongoing natural treats and activities. We feed them on a mixture of fresh fruit and vegetables with specialised pig nuts containing no growth promoters or nasty additives, the pigs develop at a steady pace, allowing for a nice build up of fat to muscle ratio. Our pigs live for twice as long as most commercial pigs.
