The Bodyworks story begins back in 2008 with Karl and Nicole (thats us). We are 2 therapists with a sense of adventure, having worked and studied all over the world including Australia, the States, Belize and Mexico. We both have a great passion for good, honest healthcare and decided to set up Twist Bodyworks in Sutton. Not a panel beaters or car garage, as many of our first telephone enquiries suggested! But a 2 room therapy centre within Twist Gym (hence the name!). After a very enjoyable and successful first year we wanted to spread our wings and challenge ourselves a little more. So, at the beginning of a recession we decided to move 2 miles up the road to Nork, Banstead, where we currently run The Bodyworks Practice and where we do not get any car related enquiries.. The team has grown with the move, from 5 therapists at Twist, to 14 therapists now working at the Practice in Banstead. But our values remain the same - Placing the patient’s health and wellbeing as our highest priority, understanding that all clients are individuals and that they require individual treatments. When you visit us you will find The Practice at street level with wheel chair access and free on street parking right outside the clinic, making it very accessible for everyone. The M25 is only a 5 minute drive away (along the A217) and we are a mere 3 minute walk from Banstead train station;with direct links to London Victoria and London Bridge. Do check the times of the trains coming into and leaving Banstead to make your journey as smooth as possible. If you do forget though, our receptionist can check them for you.

Hello, Thank you for visiting Om Holistic Wellbeing. My name is Puja and I am a Meditation Teacher and Reiki Practitioner. Although, I work intuitively, I also hold a Teachers Diploma Certificate in Meditation Tuition that is accredited by BABTAC (British Association of Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology) and CMA (Complementary Medical Association). I have many years of personal experience in meditating. I am also a Level II Reiki Practitioner since 2003 and a practising member of the UK Reiki Federation. I normally work in and around Surrey & London (UK) but can travel further a field for specific projects. Before we begin… It is important to appreciate that both Meditation and Reiki are very personal practices and your journey with both or either of these practices will be unique to you and not necessarily comparable to another person's experience. Both Meditation & Reiki are non-religious, spiritual practices i.e. relate to our connection with the inner self. What is Meditation?… Put simply, Meditation is a natural process of connecting with your inner self and experiencing a deep sense of peace, relaxation & wellbeing. It provides relief from stress as it stills the mind, balances the emotions and rests the body. The term Meditation encompasses a broad variety of practices that promote a calm & peaceful state of ‘thoughtless awareness’. In our modern hectic lives, we can have as many as 100,000 thoughts a day. This incessant background chatter that goes on in our heads is what is often referred to as a ‘Monkey Mind’. Our mind jumps from thought to thought in the same way a monkey jumps from tree to tree, pursuing one distraction after another. Meditation works to quieten the monkey mind, by bringing the awareness to the present moment. It is the art of simply 'being' (our natural state as 'human beings') rather than 'doing'. Meditation promotes a state of awareness where one effectively becomes an impartial observer of the thoughts without engaging in them. As the mind relaxes, the ever expanding silence between the diminishing thoughts instills a deep sense of calm, peace and wellbeing in the mind & body. Our Meditation Sessions - There are many Meditation techniques and tools that can facilitate a relaxing & re-energising experience for private individuals & corporates in the workplace that will revive their energy, enthusiasm & sense of wellbeing. Our Meditation Sessions consist of a bespoke experience tailor-made to the needs of the individual or group as assessed by the Meditation Teacher and may consist of - · Yogic Breathing · Deep Relaxation Meditation · Chakra Meditation · Personalised Guided Meditation · Sanskrit Mantra Meditation · Sound Meditation · Crystal Meditation · Light Meditation · Open Eye Meditation · Knowledge Sharing The first session normally includes the popular Chakra Meditation which clients have said leaves them feeling positive, refreshed and energised. Reiki Healing… Reiki is a natural healing energy activated by intention. It works on every level, not just the physical. The practice of Reiki is an original method of healing, developed by Mikao Usui, in Japan in the early 20th Century. The Japanese word Reiki means ‘Universal Life Force Energy’. Eastern medicine has always recognised and worked with this energy, which flows through all living things and is vital to wellbeing; known as ‘ki’ in Japan, ‘chi’ in China and ‘prana’ in India. Reiki is a non-invasive natural healing therapy that works with the ‘Universal Life Force Energy’ to treat a person holistically and aid health & wellbeing. It involves the practitioner placing their hands gently on or over a person’s clothed body. The recipient automatically draws in energy as needed. Reiki may be experienced as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth or coolness, other sensations or nothing at all. Reiki is deeply relaxing and has a profound calming effect. Most of the time a person will feel relaxed and uplifted by a Reiki treatment. However, on occasion as the body balances itself following a treatment it may cleanse toxins from the system that may physically manifest as headaches or other similar temporary symptoms after the treatment. If this happens, it is a good idea to drink more water, eat lighter meals and get more rest as the body works to restore its inner balance. Any discomfort should be temporary, and should soon be followed by a sense of harmony and wellbeing. After-care… To get the best out of your Meditation or Reiki session always follow up with rest, drinking plenty of water and following a healthy lifestyle plan.
