Journeys Travel Insurance is a leading provider to the UK travel industry with over 20 years' experience and service and is run by managing director Patrick Chong. Journeys has always been focused on its direction and has adhered to the philosophy of providing travel agents with easy to understand travel insurance at a competitive price. To complement this, service and training have always been paramount with high levels of service and training opportunities constantly being developed to help agents increase revenue.
New Initiatives
Since its foundation in 1991 Journeys has pioneered many new initiatives that other travel insurance companies have subsequently followed. In 1995, Journeys implemented medical screening through travel agents based on software developed by its in-house IT department - this is now widely provided by most travel insurance companies. In 1997, Journeys set up its first overseas branch and was the first company to introduce a fully comprehensive travel insurance to travel agents and in late 1998 Journeys introduced a daily rate policy which has now been implemented by many of its competitors.
New Technology
Recent developments include the implementation of an EXTRANET for travel agents, making it possible for agents to sell travel insurance online. The company has also developed both an online helpdesk for travel agents and a claims form and self-declaration form for medical conditions.
Efficiency
Journeys provide a high level of service and achieve a constant result in dealing with claims settlements within three working days. The company is one of very few who provide claims guarantee compensation - highlighting how important it values its services and those taking insurance with the company.
