Jesmond Library
Jesmond Library was officially opened on 30 May 1963. Ironically the council decided to close the library as part of a series of funding cuts on 30th June 2013, just over 50 years after opening.
The Friends of Jesmond Library are a group of volunteers who came together to save the much loved library and plan to re-open it as a community hub to maintain and enhance the free library services, and also expand the activities in reflection to the wishes of the local residents and library users.
