West Sussex Writers

Heene Gallery, Heene Road, Worthing ,
Founded in 1937, West Sussex Writers is based in Worthing, England, and is open to anyone who loves writing, does writing or wants to do writing, or simply wants to listen to masters of their craft. We pride ourselves on making everyone feel welcome and no you don't have to be a West Sussex resident to become a member. The group meets on the second Thursday of each month, except August, and meetings are held at Heene Gallery, Heene Road, Worthing (unless otherwise stated) commencing at 7.30pm. Our “writing year” runs from September to August each year. Most months, an invited speaker comes along to talk about his or her genre and genres that have been covered in the past 72 years include crime, romance, comedy, children's and poetry writing. In addition, the group runs regular workshops and competitions, catering for all tastes, and there is also an annual Open Short Story Slam open to members and non members alike.
