Colne Valley Museum
Step through the door of our traditional weavers' cottages and you'll be transported back to the early 1850's.
Wander through Colne Valley Museum's period living room and wash kitchen to admire the Yorkshire range, flagstone floor and rag rugs.
Visit the Loom Chamber, Spinning and Cropping rooms to delve into textile history, and venture into the clog-maker's workshop with its full range of period tools.
There's always something new to see in our Exhibition Room and often spinning, weaving and clog-making demonstrations.
Children's Corner
A Children's Corner is tucked away in the Exhibition Room of the museum, with a variety of activities and traditional toys to occupy younger children.
There might be some supervised activities such as painting, paper-modelling, or story-telling, or children can help themselves from the book case to read on the rag rug.
Museum Volunteers
The museum is run entirely by volunteers--without them we would cease to exist.
If you are interested in playing a part in keeping the museum going--either by sharing your skills or learning new ones, then do consider joining us.
