Carluke Tigers Rugby League

57/1 Sandy Road, Carluke ,
Carluke Tigers were founded in late 2007, and in 2008 made their debut in the Scottish Rugby League Conference - and what a debut it was! The Tigers finished 2nd in the conference, qualifying for the play-offs, and ending up in the Plate Final where they were to meet Paisley Hurricanes. The Hurricanes, however, defaulted on the fixture and the season came to an early close. 2009 was the Tigers second season, and once again they finished 2nd in the conference. This year, however, The Tigers took the play-offs by storm and qualified for the Grand Final. Unfortunately it was not to be and the Tigers lost in extra time, but for only the club's second season it was a great achievement. In 2010 the Tigers went the whole way, and after a successful conference campaign, on a sunny Saturday afternoon won the Grand Final to be crowned 2010 Scottish Rugby League Champions! The Tigers went on to the UK National RLC Quarter Final, and in doing so booked their place in the first round proper of the 2011 Carnegie Challenge Cup. 2011 saw an early start to the season for the Tigers, with a trip to Warrington to face English RLC National Champions Warrington Wizards at Wilderspool Stadium in the 1st round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup. The Tigers lost, but pushed the much more fancied English outfit all the way. In the Scottish Conference the Tigers again went well and qualified for the play-offs, but unfortunately never qualified for the Grand Final this season.
