Baltica Lewes
BALTICA – our cafe and pottery shop – has a Polish lunch menu with richly flavoured soups such as Zurek and Barszcz together with main courses including Pierogi (pork or wild mushroom), Bigos and Goulash.
Anna and Will Rogers moved from Warsaw to Lewes in 1997 and opened their pottery shop selling the distinctive ‘eyespot’ stoneware. Since May 2010 our new café has established itself and is attracting new customers to the Polish pottery as all the food and drinks are served using the plates, bowls, cups etc – so you can have lunch and maybe get some ideas for your shopping!
All the food is prepared in our kitchen using locally sourced - or Polish - ingredients. Our beef has always been supplied by: A TURNER & SONS, MIDDLE BROYLE FARM, THE BROYLE, RINGMER BN8 5AJ, EAST SUSSEX. Our hams are from the local butchers: FRANK RICHARDS & SONS, 25 WESTERN ROAD, LEWES BN7 1RL
In addition to the lunch menu, homemade cakes, croissants, brownies, flapjacks and cupcakes (which are all baked on the premises) are served all day with Fairtrade Colombian coffee, delicious hot chocolate, freshly squeezed lemonade and a selection of teas.
We are fully licensed and have Italian house wines (Sangiovese and Trebbiano) and beers from Poland (Zywiec), Czech (Budvar) and Italy (Peroni).
