Hi, my name is Sonya Christensen and I am an award winning Psychotherapist, Trainer and Counselling Consultant working throughout the North West of England. I am a passionate campaigner for self acceptance. My dream is to be able to provide as many children as possible with the self acceptance skills and support that they need to grow into happy and healthy adults.
I have been Counselling and Training for various organisations and in my own private practice since 2007 and am very passionate about my work. I love helping children to see that there is more than one way to solve a problem. Often in a more creative and innovative way than they already do – and believe me there are lots!
If children are committed to the process then the ideas discussed in our sessions and workshops can really help a child to change their behaviours, thoughts and feelings for the better. Our work aim's to help them feel an immediate and positive change in their behaviours and ultimately their life in general. Sessions take place face to face with children in their school or home setting to help them to feel more relaxed. We also run nurture groups and workshops in schools covering a variety of subjects.
