Lintrathen Loch Fishery
Lintrathen & Backwater Dam are situated in a beautiful Angus glen and are run by the Lintrathen Angling Club. Lintrathen, which is boat fishing only, has twenty two boats, including two wheely boats for the disabled and is stocked on a regular base with both brown and rainbow trout. Surrounded by trees it is a natural habitat for wildlife including deer and ospreys and Lintrathen gives the angler a feeling of peace and tranquillity as well as the excitement of catching quality fish. The Backwater, situated higher up the glen gives the purist a chance to fly fish the banks for wonderful wild brown trout with an average weight of eight ounces. Both lochs are regularly visited by clubs and individual anglers from the furthest points in the country and Lintrathen has been a venue for the Commonwealth Championship.
