Open mic nights are great for emerging artists trying out new compositions or arrangements. They also make a great peaceful night out, where you can listen to great local talent. The night will also boast some of the UK's most talented artists from different ends of the country all of which have great looking CV's!!

On the first Sunday of every month, there's an open mic and jam night at AKA in Parsons Street, Banbury. It's an amazingly friendly, free-entry, everybody welcome night, hosted by funky fusioneers Waiting For Ray, and MC'ed by Lee Smith. There are plenty of opportunities to play or sing either solo or with a band, and you can choose a song from the AKA songbook (uploading soon!), get involved in a funky or bluesy 12-bar jam, or come along either as a soloist or with your own band to play a short 'feature' set. All instruments and styles are very welcome. PA & backline of amps and kit is provided, but please do bring your own instruments! It's also a great opportunity for people to simply come along to hear some great live music being created 'on the spot' in one of the best, most welcoming venues in town.
