Harris Academy Beckenham is a co-educational secondary school for families in Beckenham and the surrounding areas. We will build on the strengths of Kelsey Park and give staff and students the support and structures needed to accelerate their improvements and achievements. THE STEPHENS AND SADDLER ACADEMY The Stephens and Saddler Academy is a semi-vocational drama school in Kent founded by actors, Sophie Stephens and Kris Saddler. Sophie and Kris trained at drama school together and now work professionally as performers and have worked for the BBC, Channel 4, performed in music videos, films, radio dramas and on the West End stage. They decided to use their training and professional experience and open The Stephens and Saddler Academy to bring traditional drama school training, in both stage and screen, to young actors. SSA offers classes in Acting, Improvisation, TV and Film, Camera Work, Dance (19th and 20th Century Social Dance for the Actor), Singing, Stage Combat and a variety of workshops and master classes. We are NOT a stage school! We pride ourselves on offering traditional actor training for young performers unlike any other in the area. SSA is open to students aged 4-18 and runs every Saturday from 10 – 4pm. We also have a GLEE Club and a Drama Club, where students train after school and work towards competitions which take place throughout the country. We also hold evening classes where our students work towards the world renown, LAMDA examinations. Classes are held by Sophie and Kris and a variety of top, industry professionals. SSA are also holding their first ever SSA Summer School run by West End stars and Industry Professionals – keep checking the website for our 2011 line up! Summer School takes place over a five day period from the 25th - 29th July 2011 culminating in a West End inspired showcase performed by the SSA students for parents and friends. The school is open to all students of SSA and Guests with the opportunity to audition and become a student of SSA’s Saturday School from September. This is a great opportunity to experience SSA and you can have fun acting, singing, dancing and much, much more, with us, all week long!
