A team of volunteers, Bromyard's Light Brigade, spend several weekends, from late October through to late November, building, installing and testing Bromyard's Christmas Illuminations. These are switched on, usually on the last Saturday of November, and remain on display till early in the New Year. This began in 1965 and has become a major attraction for Bromyard locals and visitors from afar. During "Switch On Day" there are a series of events including a Christmas Crafts Fair, children's parade, Santa's grotto, community carol singing and much more.
