Anna's Shiatsu
Anna’s journey with Shiatsu began in 2006 when she was introduced to Shiatsu to strengthen her own energies. Anna is a Student Practitioner in her final year of the Practitioner Diploma at Devon School of Shiatsu.
Anna is also trained to BSL NVQ Level 3 standard which makes her Shiatsu sessions accessible to members of the deaf community.
About Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a relaxing yet powerful Japanese form of bodywork. It works on the circulation of energy, Qi or Ki, which flows throughout the body along pathways called meridians or channels that connect with vital organs.
Shiatsu can help with a wide range of physical and emotional conditions. In particular:
• Back pain
• Headaches and migraines
• Joint pain and reduced mobility
• Menstrual problems
• Digestive Problems
• Sports Injuries
• Stress
What will a Treatment be like?
Although Shiatsu means ‘finger pressure’ in Japanese, in practice a practitioner uses touch, comfortable pressure and manipulative techniques to adjust the body’s physical structure to assist and strengthen the body’s natural ability to self-heal.
Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing experience and regular treatments can alleviate stress and illness and maintain health and well-being.
• Relax and energise your body
• Calm and refresh your mind
• Improve breathing
• Improve circulation
• Enhance flexibility
Treatment Sessions
Each session will last around 1 hour but please allow an extra 15 minutes for your first session to have a consultation about your lifestyle, diet and general wellbeing etc.
Your treatment will be carried out on a futon on the floor. It is best to wear loose-fitting clothes e.g. a t-shirt and training trousers to allow ease of movement.
To get the most from the treatment try not to eat heavily before or after the session.
