Clevedon Community Centre

2 Princes Road, Clevedon, Clevedon ,
CLEVEDON COMMUNITY CENTRE & PRINCES HALL The Community Centre is unique in North Somerset – being the only Centre that is self-financing. The more people that use it, the more running costs are kept to modest levels. The Community Centre is managed by Clevedon Community Association, a registered charity. History – Sunhill House was the home of the Woodington family up until the early 1940s and was bought by the people of Clevedon in 1949. The Princes Hall was built in the 1960s to replace The Pavilion (which used to be on the Salthouse Fields), but became damaged and had to be demolished. The Jubilee Lounge and Bar was opened in 1978 with the New Foyer being added in 1990. FACILITIES Princes Hall is the largest venue in the vicinity – up to 300 people can be accommodated theatre style in the Hall (which is suitable for shows, weddings, dances etc, as well as seminars and exhibitions). The Hall has a fully equipped stage and dressing rooms. The Jubilee Lounge, adjacent to the Hall, has a well-stocked bar with a fine selection of beers, wines and spirits, all at competitive prices. Sunhill House has various rooms that can accommodate from 10 to 80 people, for meetings, classes, conferences, parties etc. There are rooms suitable for dance (with bar) and exercise classes – others for business meetings, presentations, training and conferences. OHP, Screens, projector stands, TV and video and wireless internet can be provided. Squirrel’s Restaurant is situated within Clevedon Community Centre and has wonderful views out onto Sunhill Park. The restaurant is open Monday to Friday with Tea, Coffee and cakes being served between 10.00am and 12.00pm, and Lunches between 12.00pm and 2.00pm. The licensed restaurant offers a varied menu with two courses for £6.50. So come and enjoy a relaxed home cooked meal with a glass or two of your favourite tipple.
