Fairwater RoadRunners was officially formed in September 1983. As interest in running grew a need for "fun" clubs to support those who fancied "jogging and running" was identified. So it was that Fairwater RoadRunners was born with the name later being revised to Fairwater Runners as other disciplines like track, x-country, tri-athalons and fell running were included. Although it started as a "fun" club many members have gone on to gain County and National recognition on Road, Country and Fell. Fairwater Runners prides itself in having fun while running and welcomes men and women of all abilities and ages.

Amateur Rugby League team currently playing in the WRL South Conference. Based out of Cwmbran RFC.
