• Provide proof of age if you’re asked (we accept photo ID of passport, driving licence, Student Union Photo cards or PASS cards) to prove over 16yrs of age.
• Don’t bring alcohol, tobacco, solvents or drugs ~ our staff will do gender appropriate bag searches and pat downs for YOUR security and any illegal or harmful substances will be confiscated – there will be ZERO tolerance
• Don’t come to the venue if you’ve been drinking alcohol ~ random alcohol testing will be carried out prior to entry and if you have been drinking alcohol you will be refused entry and parents/carers or the statutory agencies will be contacted.
• Details can be found on the Doncaster Best Bar None website under News and Events (details below) for parents to get further information.
• Don’t hang around the venue after the gig ~ make sure you have transport arranged to get you home safely
• If you need help or assistance, talk to one of our uniformed security staff
Parents charter:
In Doncaster many venues are committed to providing fun events for children and young people under the age of 18. To make sure these events run safely, staff at [insert name of premises] are trained to operate in compliance with a voluntary Code of Practice (see attached Staff Charter details). We also have a Young People’s Charter (see attached Young People’s Charter details) so that young people know our house rules and what to expect when they come to our venue.
We recognise that as responsible parents/carers, you need to be informed about the event your child is attending, so here is some general information about the way we operate to keep children and young people safe:
• Admission to the event is restricted to children & young people aged between (insert here). Proof of age will be required – please note that we ONLY accept a Passport, Photo Driving Licence, Student Union Photo Card or cards bearing the PASS logo.
• Admission is ticket only, so please make sure your child has obtained a ticket before arriving at the venue.
• Breath testing for alcohol use is a condition of entry and under 18’s will be refused entry if they have been drinking or they behave anti-socially.
• For your child’s safety, bag searches, gender appropriate pat downs and a walk-through metal detector may be operated.
• Queue barriers will be used to prevent road traffic accidents.
• Security staff will monitor the external areas in proximity to the premises to prevent unsafe, illegal or anti social activity prior to or after the event.
• Cigarette and gaming machines will be covered or removed for Under 18’s only events.
• There will be regular patrols and floor walks to monitor activity in toilets and other areas.
• Illegal or harmful substances (alcohol, tobacco, solvents or drugs) will be confiscated by staff and reported to the police.
• A Children’s Safeguarding Champion will attend the event and a ‘safe child welfare area’ will be identified. This person will be suitably CRB checked.
• All security staff are SIA registered, uniformed and identifiable.
• Staff will NOT eject a young person from the venue if they are vulnerable. They will advise the member of staff who is responsible for child welfare at the event (Children’s Safeguarding Champion), of any young person who appears vulnerable or incapable and parents/carers or the statutory agencies will be contacted.
• Free tap water will be available from the bar, on request and the venue will be suitably air conditioned where fitted.
• Irresponsible promoters will not be used at the premises.
• Events will end in time for young people to use public transport home.
• For parents/carers wishing to drop-off or collect children, the designated pick up point is [Insert here].
