Dunfermline & Fife 2014

Dunfermline & Fife 2014

1 High Street, Dunfermline ,
It’s time for Dunfermline to take its place at the centre of Scotland’s story. Homecoming 2014 marks the 700th anniversary of Bannockburn, the finest hour of King Robert the Bruce. Dunfermline, as the final resting place of the great Scottish hero whose name is proclaimed around the top of the city’s Abbey, must play a key part in the celebrations. Just a few miles distant from Bannockburn and well located for all other points in Scotland, historic Dunfermline is ideally placed to welcome visitors in 2014. With The Ryder Cup in Gleneagles and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow shining a spotlight on Scotland, 2014 is a superb opportunity to showcase what Dunfermline has to offer. Visit Dunfermline and our partners plan to host a series of magnificent events and work with Bannockburn, Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Gleneagles Ryder Cup and Edinburgh Festivals to make sure that Dunfermline plays its part in a triumphant Homecoming 2014. Let’s make 2014 about Edinburgh, Stirling, Gleneagles, Glasgow, Bannockburn…Fife & Dunfermline.
