Real Fairford Football Club

4 Horcott Road, Fairford ,
Real Fairford FC was formed after the Fairford Town football club 3rd team was disbanded, having already commenced the 2006/07 season in the Cirencester and District League division 1. With the prospect of not playing football looming, the players and supporters decided to form a new club as quickly as possible. Fortunately, the Cirencester and District League agreed that Real Fairford could take their place in the league and effectively keep the results of the games that had already been played. Real Fairford play their home games at Coln House School, otherwise known as ‘Stade de Coln’ The first competitive game was on 23rd September 2006, in a Mills Roberts Cup match away at Poulton. Real Fairford Won the game 4-3, with Pete Walker becoming the clubs first ever goalscorer. Real Fairford played their first league game on 30th September 2006 away to Bees Knees. The game finished in a 1-1 draw. Some other notable firsts include the first league victory, 8-2 away to Poulton, and the first hatrick by a Real Fairford player, four goals by John Newton in the same game.
