The Three Foxes ....eclectic shopping for the soul....
In our shop space at The Old Dairy, British pottery sits alongside Danish designs….an atomic coat stand could be next to genuine butterflies from a 1930’s collecting expedition. These items may remind you of times past or encourage you to take a little more time to enjoy some of the simple pleasures in life. We source most of our items from the Mid- Century modern era (1933-1965) but fully embrace the 70's too!
Some of our other items are repurposed. Hard back books become kindle cases, industrial task lighting is taken out of the factory to be used around the home, furniture is given a new lease of life by stripping it back to its original state and objects are enhanced by unique decoration or new uses. Lastly, we also create and stock a range of quirky handmade cards, jewellery, artwork and exceptional photography produced by using a variety of unusual printing techniques.
We are fascinated by design and like to pass on information about the manufacture or history of some of the items we stock. Did you know that 50’s design was heavily influenced by scientific molecular advances? – hence the term “atomic†for designs involving wire or chrome pieces highlighted with coloured plastic balls. That pyrex was invented in 1915 and has been manufactured in the same way since 1947? We care about what we sell and its story. We want you to cherish it.
We are committed to recycling and reusing. We don’t see our gorgeous objects as ‘old’, ‘used’ or ‘imperfect,’ we see them as loved, unique and ready for a new life. Our ever changing stock will appeal to anyone wanting a little something for themselves or an unusual, quirky and thoughtful gift for someone else.
Style is personal. We stock things that appeal to us. Things for your home should appeal to you. We hope you like what we have found and made.
