What we do… Before school we are usually busy with breakfast and getting ready for school. After school we take a vote on what we would like to do such as: • Computer Games • Reading / Story Time • Movies • Cooking • Crafts • Playing Garden • Irchester Country Park / Stanwick Lakes My house… We have a noisy games room which has a large TV screen where we can play on the wii, ps3 or x-box together. Sky is also available in this room via the hd box, so if we want to watch a movie we can. All of the games and movies are carefully restricted and age appropriate. This room also has a large leather sofa and bean bags to make it as comfortable and cosy as possible. A desk top computer is also available in this room and is carefully monitored. Restrictions on are set on our internet as to what children may view. Our lounge area has a large dinning table which we sit at to eat our breakfast and snacks, this table is also used for homework, arts and crafts etc. This room also has a large screen TV, however, preference will be given to reading and homework activities, the leather sofa are free for the children to relax with a book d should they wish to. This room leads directly on to our garden, where there is a small wooden play house with fixtures and fittings along with a small grassed area with a goal. During the spring and summer months I encourage the children to grow small plants with me. I am happy to assist children with their homework where I can and all of my resources such as the internet and craft materials are available for them to use. I enjoy baking and am happy to help the children with basic cooking skills. We regularly take Oscar, our chocolate Labrador, out on walks to Irchester Country Park and Stanwick Lakes where the children are able to enjoy blow off some steam after the school day and make the most of the park facilities, while also learning about the responsibilities of looking after a pet. On these occasions I will pack up our drinks and snacks into a small picnic which we can enjoy while we are out.
