Ilkeston Running Club meets twice a week on a Tuesday and Thursday evening, at the reception of Rutland Sports Park, Ilkeston. The Rutland Sports Park has good parking facilities and a purpose built running track. Lockers and showers are free to use (£1 deposit) for club runners. We range in age from 18 to 70+ and have many different standards of runner. We cater for everyone, from the runner who is looking for some extra motivation to continue training, to the more competitive runner who wants to test themselves at races. We have many women runners, some of who have been with the club for several years. All newcomers to the club are made to feel very welcome and we always make sure no runners are left alone and are grouped with other runners of a similar standard. The benefits of joining our club are many. Running with other people means that you will make many new friends and benefit from the security and wealth of experience that our members can provide. Club membership entitles you to free race entry to approximately 10 races a year, discounts at local running stores and of course the a chance to wear the famous white vest with the red stripe around it. Ilkeston Rutland Cricket Club has been at the heart of the town's sporting life since 1824. We are a club with social and playing members, we have adult teams at all levels from the 1st XI, who play in the Derbyshire County League Division 1, the 2nd XI in the Derbyshire County League Division 4 North and the 3rd XI, who are in Division 9 North. The club also has junior sides at U17, U15, U13 and U11 age groups, as well as Kwik Cricket for beginners and younger children. AFC Kirk Hallam

AFC Kirk Hallam is a football club based in Ilkeston and is a member of the Long Eaton Sunday League. The club was originally called Three Horseshoes and was renamed in June 2011 at the second attempt by the new management team. The club has continued to grow and improve year on year, and following a best ever league finish (5th in division 1), have expanded into two teams. Reserves to enter the Long Eaton Sunday League division 3 in the 2013-14 season. As well as this, the club has a new home at the Stanton Institute. AFC Kirk Hallam are a family orientated club who like to involved players wives, girlfriends and children at as many events as possible. Every year, at the end of the season, the club plays at Derby County's Pride Park stadium, previously for charity, but this year they hosted a four team tournament. in August of the last three preseason s, the club have entered a team into the two day Keele International Cup. This , as well as being an opportunity to play a few matches over a weekend, is also a good team building experience that is enjoyed by all who attend.
