Louth Velo

Market Place, Louth ,
Our typical member may be equally a novice or a seasoned veteran, but share a common interest for the love of bikes and cycling and just want a good social ride, with time to enjoy the fantastic scenery the area has to offer as well as the odd cafe or pub. As well as our regular Sunday road ride from Louth we also organise trips away both in this country and abroad, attend local sportives and have social events. Pace wise we adjust on the day to suit the members who are riding. We aim as a group to be faster than a touring pace but not so fast that you cant hold a conversation, so an average pace for the day tends to vary between 13 - 16mph. No one gets left behind or is made to feel guilty!! Remember, it is far easier to ride in a group than on your own too. If it's your first time then you will be assured of a very warm welcome and a guarantee that if you are nervous about riding in a group that a member will be assigned to look after you on the day. We have a great jersey that members wear with pride and a modern informative website at www.louthvelo.co.uk IMPORTANT Please Note: As a non sanctioned club with no official affiliation we also strongly recommend that riders take out suitable insurance cover from either British Cycling or the CTC for example. Louth Velo except no responsibility for loss or personal damage at any events or during any club activity. For those seeking a more race orientated / traditional/ youth development cycle club there are British Cycling Affiliated clubs in Alford, Grimsby and Lincoln http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/
