Voted Suffolk Museum of the Year 2012, Lowestoft Maritime Museum is based in a Grade 11 listed cottage in Sparrow's Nest Park. Run entirely by volunteers, the museum underwent an extensive refurbishment in 2010, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, doubing in size and creating a first class modern facility to honour the town's rich maritime heritage.

The gallery has four creative spaces in which to show artists work. It plays host to many exhibitions each year as well as courses and classes.
