This year promises to be the best yet with so much to do for all the family from across Kent and the UK. The Maidstone River Festival welcomes hundreds of boats and more than 20,000 people to the county town of Kent, Maidstone. Attraction highlights include live bands across four stages, street entertainers, a fun fair, the traditional raft race, an illuminated boat parade and a spectacular fire work display to end the event. This year’s theme is ‘At the Movies’ so look out for a few movie based theme surprises. Spanning along the river and into Maidstone Town Centre our event covers five main areas. The River Bank will have stalls and music with street entertainers mingling with visitors with the backdrop of dressed boats at their moorings. Head towards Whatman Park on the South side of the river (head out past the high level railway bridge) and you’ll find a family fun day area ideal for families and young children. With a Dance Stage, "The Entertainer" children’s treasure hunt, fun sports, Fun Kidz Bus, exhibitions, stalls and stands as well as the Cadbury’s ‘Spots v Stripes’ competition, and with Cadbury’s free chocolate samples it is set to be the not to miss area of the event (Run by the Maidstone Lions Club and Harmony Hall). The HRM Floating Sound Stage (sponsored by Golding Homes) will provide a chance to listen to some of the best local bands available. Based right on the riverside the stage is organised as ever by the dedicated team from Hospital Radio Maidstone. In The Archbishops Palace Gardens - Friday People - Present live music all day. Real Santa is in Maidstone

Real Santa is in Maidstone

Santas Grotto, The Bridge, The Mall Maidsone, Maidstone ,
Hello and welcome to my Facebook page. I am the Real Santa and I have set up a very special Grotto in The Mall Chequers, Maidstone, where the Elves paint the magic stars that my reindeer catch when they fly. Come and see me any weekday between 10:00 and 5:00, or Saturday I'm there from 9:00. On Sunday I have a bit of a lie-in, but I am in attendance at the Grotto from 10:30 but only until 4:30 because all the shops shut early on a Sunday. I am here until Christmas Eve, and will love to see as many children as possible before then. Tell me what you want for Christmas. Ask if I would like a mince pie left out, and what would Rudolph like? You can also have a lovely professional photograph taken with me! You can have it printed to put in a frame. Have it a key-fob a fridge magnet or a glitter globe with you and me in it!!. My Photo-Team are very good and will have your pictures ready within minutes!
