The Merchant's House, Marlborough

132 High Street, Marlborough ,
The aim of The Merchant's House (Marlborough) Trust is to restore and refurbish the 17th century historic house to the highest standards, rolling back time for our visitors, three hundred and thirty years to around 1680, when Thomas Bayly, silk merchant and leading citizen of Marlborough, lived in the house with his family and servants. The House is open to visitors from April to the end of October annually on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The Merchant's House Gift shop stocks quality brands such as Emma Bridgewater, L'Occitane, L.S.A, Kenneth Turner and any more. The shop is run by volunteers and all profits go into the restoration of the house. The Trust holds fundraising events throughout the year in the House such as talks on aspects of the 17th century, coffee mornings, music concerts and bridge afternoons.
