Beautiful, two-bedroomed holiday cottage in the 13th century village of North Bovey in Dartmoor National Park. Built for lovebirds, the cottage has oak-beamed walls, log fires and sheepskin rugs, shimmering wallpapers, ornate mirrors and a huge copper bath for two. Romantic touches include Molton Brown toiletries, fluffy dressing gowns and slippers, scented candles and freshly cut flowers. Guests have complimentary membership of Bovey Castle country club, with its spa, pool, tennis courts and golf course.

The Hotel dates back to 1639 and this historic Grade II listed building is being sympathetically refurbished to provide all modern comforts within a traditional setting. Our comfy sofa-filled lounge has a roaring log fire where you can relax and combine the delights of a traditional cream tea with the convenience of free wi-fi. An ideal base from which to explore this beautiful area of Devon, the White Hart has 20 well-appointed bedrooms in the main hotel and a further eight in a separate mews building. Our restaurant features the freshest local, seasonal produce cooked in a style that lets the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves. A free house, we stock a range of local real ales and have a hand-picked wine list. Dartmoor is great walking country and dogs are welcome everywhere in the hotel, except in the dining room.

The barn is made for romance and for families and friends to get together with oak beams, slate and oak floors, comfy sofas, scented candles and freshly cut flowers. The hamlet is far from the madding crowd, safe and peaceful; the only sounds are of birdsong and the trickling of water. Walking is the main draw; Dartmoor is one of the UK’s largest national parks, with 368 square miles of wilderness, and there are lovely walks from your doorstep. For beach lovers, the white sandy coves of the South Hams aren’t far. There are also top golf courses within 10 mins drive, 4×4 off road driving, paintball, fishing, canoeing, climbing and even tree surfing with lots more to do besides. Lower Westcott Cottage is the ideal location for relaxation and a great base to explore and enjoy the delights of what Dartmoor has to offer.
