Aberdeen now has the largest concentration of experts on early Scandinavia in the British Isles, including: Stefan Brink, Michael H. Gelting, Neil Price, Andrew Newby, Ralph O'Connor, Frederik Pedersen, Karen Milek, Tarrin Wills, Lisa A. Collinson, David N. Dumville, Charlotta Hillerdal, Jan-Henrik Fallgren, Kevin Edwards among others. The purpose of the Centre is to bring together these experts to coordinate research projects, provide research facilities and supervision, teaching for Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes and to promote Scandinavian Studies generally.
