Come and pamper yourself in our Luxury Vegetarian Bed and Breakfast on the dramatic Isle of Skye in the Highlands of Scotland. Our 19th century former crofthouse is beautifully located next to the River Snizort, with open views over the hills and beyond plenty of walks from the door. We are perfectly positioned central to Skye and only 4 miles from Portree, the Island's Capital, with it's range of shops and places to eat. We are both on hand to help you get the most out of your stay on Skye and can offer you lots of tips on places to visit, walk, eat and drink on the island. Mark is particularly handy with a map and knows plenty of walks to suit all abilities. Sam is an imaginative and experienced cook, with a keen eye for interior design. We are both committed Vegetarians, however we welcome those who might just want to reduce their meat intake, and you will also find our menu boasts a really good range for our Vegan visitors. Fáilte gu Ben Tianavaig – a warm welcome to our friendly Bed & Breakfast located in the heart of Portree…… Ben Tianavaig is run by Charlotte & Bill Johnson, and we are delighted to welcome you to our Facebook Page, and our home. We are open all year round so our guests can enjoy all the island has to offer whatever the season. Ben Tianavaig is a distinctive terracotta-coloured house within the Portree conservation area. We look out over Portree Harbour with panoramic views of the Cuillins’, the Braes’, Ben Tianavaig hill, and beyond Loch Portree, to the Isle of Raasay. We are also only a few minutes walk from the centre of Portree - all the shops, restaurants, bars & pubs, banks and the harbour, are easily accessible from the B&B. We have 4 guest bedrooms, 2 (double/twins) at ground floor level and 2 (double/family) larger rooms on our top floor. Our rooms are en-suite and have views of the harbour and surrounding area. We want to make your stay with us as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. We provide comfortable, clean accommodation, a great breakfast (so our guests tell us!) with a good menu selection, and a warm friendly welcome. If you want help to get the most out of your stay on the island, we can offer suggestions about places of interest or tour guides/trips/walks so you enjoy what the area has to offer. Whether you are a keen walker, a food or whisky enthusiast, researching your family history, taking in the museums and castles, or you want to watch the abundant wildlife – it’s all here for the asking in this truly beautiful part of the world. Well Plaid Diner The Well Plaid has a much more casual feel, has a wide ranging menu and can easily cater for families and large groups. During the winter months (October to March) we have a reduced menu but if you would like to try some local seafood please ask at reception and our chef will be happy to organise it for you. MacNab's Inn Sit and relax in our warm and friendly bar, try a locally brewed real ale, have a dram from our wide range of malt whiskies and tuck into a tasty bar meal. We feature live entertainment from talented local musicians during the summer months.
