There are over 1200 students who attend the school.We are temporarily located on Queen Victoria Street whilst a rebuilding of one of the previous sites takes place at a cost of £12.6 million as part of the BSF (Building Schools for the Future) program. It is hoped that the building will be completed early 2013. We are committed to making KPHS an outstanding facility for learning and a significant community landmark providing a wide range of high quality services to the local area that we serve.We will ensure that we give all of the students who attend KPHS real and tangible opportunities to follow leaning routes and experiences that will genuinely transform their lives. MEDIA PRODUCTION at Hopwood Hall College. Creative, vocational and industry-relevant teaching and training. Situated within the School of Arts and Performing Arts (APA) at the Rochdale campus the Media department boasts new (2010), purpose-built accomodation. Trained and placed in 'real-world' situations, students have access to the latest television and radio production and post-production equipment which are used to create professional media products. We offer a 2 year BTEC course in television and radio production to school-leavers and mature students. Throughout the 2 years you will: Eperience extensive practical hands-on learning Make television and radio programmes Get involved in real-world projects that develop employable skills Have access to modern equipment and facilities Take an operational role in running our internet radio station Work with knowledgeable and passionate teaching staff Learn important theoretical knowledge of the media Develop a range of social and communication skills We wish to recruit students with: A keen interest in Media (Television, Radio or Film) Preparedness for study and active learning An enthusiastic approach to study A desire to approach professional standards of behaviour and practice Ability to learn independently when required On completion of the course you will be able to progress to university and develop a career path in directing, camera, sound, editing, presenting and other associated disciplines. Motivated and high achieving students could seek employment on completion of course.
