Dartmouth Community Bookshop is a community cooperative, set up specially to sell new books to local people and visitors to Dartmouth. We believe that many people want to browse and buy books in a bookshop and we want our shop to become a focus for booklovers in the area and to help promote reading and literacy in all age groups. We are a not-for-profit enterprise based at 12 Higher Street, Dartmouth, opposite the Cherub. We set up to replace the Harbour Bookshop, selling new books and keeping alive the connection with Christopher Robin. After lots of hard work by many people, and a generous loan, we opened the shop on December 5. We have a good selection of childrens’ and adult books and can take orders. New stock is coming in all the time. Andrea Saunders from the Harbour Bookshop is our professional, paid manager and chooses our stock of new books. The rest of us work as volunteers on a rota. Our list is growing and we hope many more will join. We will soon be offering shares in the community cooperative to raise funds. Donations of £20 up to £20,000 gives you membership of the co-op and a single vote. We aim to develop outreach services linking to schools, the library and the community and to run promotional events. Green Pastures is a well stocked Christian Bookshop in Dereham in Mid Norfolk. We have been trading here for ten years. Our Mission Statement is to be a Christian presence in the High Street; to provide a resource for the local churches; and to serve the whole community with the best in Bibles, Christian books, music, cards and related products.

LITTLE ACORNS BOOKSTORE now has permanent residence at BEDLAM in Pump Street, Derry, N Ireland, and carries titles by local publishing house GUILDHALL PRESS, many author-signed, alongside other local books/authors. To compliment the books a small selection of used and new CDs and cassettes – jazz, blues, film soundtracks, musicals, blues, swing etc – are also available. Plus second-hand publishing, book and writers' magazines. There is also a special limited collection of film, literary, book jacket covers (Puffin & Penguin), actors/actresses, art, fifties & seventies style postcards available - both framed & unframed. Postcards & greeting cards depicting children's book characters & other various gift cards, some hand-made. A percentage of sales from a selection of books (privately donated/made available for sale by individuals) is made to local charities. Book donations are always welcome - be it for sale online or at a book stall - with either proceeds given to the above charities (once sold), or a % of the sales to the original owner. Dulwich Books celebrates 30th years as an independent bookshop this year, and though a lot has changed since then, we still maintain our quality and personal book-selling service. Our commitment to quality service extends not only to our regular customers, but also to our work with local schools and colleges. We stock a large range of books; children’s and adults, fiction and non-fiction. In addition to this we have access to over 650 000 titles available to order from our suppliers. Usually we are able to order books requested by customers to be in the shop by the next day. But we don’t stop there as we have all a year-round stock of greetings cards, gift wrap, gift stationery, notebooks and diaries and calendars in their season.
