Conservatories can be a great addition to any property, but they are just not practical in this country, too cold in winter, too warm in summer, too noisy from rainfall, prone to leaking, the list goes on. The main problem with conservatories is the inefficiency of the roof, it provides little or no insulation whatsoever. There is always a way to change this, replace your old roof with our unique roof replacement system.
Grey Metro Light Weight Roof
We specialise in removing the old roof and replacing it with our lightweight yet strong system. We use a product called metro tile, which is a simulated lightweight roofing tile. It comes in various profiles and colours and is designed to match the existing roof of the building. Inside the room we run a level ceiling throughout, which is where we place a minimum of 300mm of quilted insulation, providing the completed roof with a U value of approximately 0.15W/m2K. (U value is the rate of heat transfer from inside to outside. The lower the number the better the thermal properties.)
Before
Advantages
Warmer room in winter
Cooler in summer
No leaks or draughts
No glare from sun
No noise from rain and wind
Lower fuel costs
Here this Mahogany Edwardian conservatory is dramatically transformed to a usable room. The change is a quick and clean process, 2 to 3 days to complete a standard roof from start to finish.
The complete roof is replaced including new fascias and gutterings and new leadwork at the wall. The new roof is more aesthetically pleasing than the old polycarbon sheets.
After
Styles
Here the roof is finished with a brown tile effect (there are 6 colours to choose from). The Metro Tile shown here is identical to the Marley Mendip rooftile.
Another beautiful roof created using our unique changing of the old polycarbon roof, this Victorian conservatory is now changed to a beautiful Garden Room.
Inside Finish
The internal of the room is finished with a level ceiling, usually incorporating spot-lights and it is above this ceiling that 300mm of insulation is placed, keeping the room warm. The finished height of the ceiling is usually level with the rest of the property.
An oak uPVC conservatory with a lean to roof, transformed to a warm usable room. Velux windows can be installed if more light is required.
