Anybody welcome to try and learn how to become a drum and bass dj.
Try something different to your standard guitar or drumming lessons
Even if you have zero knowledge of the equipment or no confidence of djing in general, it doesn't matter, i'll be willing to teach you the very basics, up into more advanced aspects of mixing.
You'll be able to progress as slow or as quick as you feel comfortable with.
Beginners will start off learning;
- Their way around the equipment, familiarizing themselves with what they need to know to get started.
- Basic tune structure, learning about bars, phrases, drops, breakdowns
- Basic beat matching and cueing
Intermediate lessons;
- Advanced beatmatching, mixing tracks with different beats per minute
- Basic eq'ing and mixer work
- Basic mix progression. Being able to perform a mini mix of 3, 4 or 5 tunes in a row
- Advanced tune selection
Advanced lessons;
- Pitch chasing
- Advanced eq'ing
- Creative mixer work
- Advanced cueing for double drops and mixing in phrase
- Speed fine tuning and efficiency in the mix
Whenever you feel ready, you will be able to record and take home your very own mix cd made on in-house recording equipment, free of charge.
You will be learning on high end pioneer decks and mixer, and your welcome to use much or as little of my drum and bass as you like.
I have an extensive range of tech/liquid/minimal/dancefloor drum and bass, all in the highest quality WAV format. Your welcome to mix whatever style/s you like. I regular buy tunes so you'll always have something fresh to mix. You can even bring your own records along to use
So if you want to become a dj but don't have the money to buy your own home set up or records, get involved.
You never know, if you get good enough you may even be able to join our ingressible audio crew and play out to crowds on a proper club system.
