Dealer Principal John Cleland`s family have been involved in the Motor Industry since the early 1950`s and have been Volvo Main Dealers since 1989 and Jaguar since 2001. Clelands were previously based in Lanarkshire and latterly Peebles and moved to their current site in 1989 with separate custom built Volvo and Jaguar Buildings alongside each other. John Cleland has competed in many disciplines of Motor Sport and has been a very successful professional International Racing driver for 18 years. He was twice British Touring Car Champion (1989 and 1995) raced all over the world and still races Classic Cars today. His sons Niki and Jamie have also competed at National level in both Rallying (Ford Ka and Subaru Impreza) and Racing (Mini and Renault Clio) where both have been successful in their own right. Cleland Motorsport is still an integral part of the day to day business, modifying customer cars to enhance performance and handling as well as preparing competition cars for customers.
