CACHE stands for the Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education, and we are the leading specialist Awarding Organisation for the Care and Education Sector. Our core business as an Awarding Organisation is the development of high quality vocational qualifications. We either write the syllabus based on the workforce development strategy for the sector, or develop them jointly with employers. We then develop the assessments which are used to determine if the learners have gained sufficient knowledge and skills from the course to be awarded the qualification. In addition we work with trade unions, professional associations, Sector Skills Councils, (SSCs), and government departments to ensure all our qualifications are truly fit for purpose. These qualifications are used by over 1500 Colleges and Training Providers in the UK and abroad.

Salisbury Cathedral is one of Britain’s finest medieval cathedrals, both living church and internationally renowned heritage attraction. It is also home to the finest original copy of the 1215 Magna Carta, which is on permanent display to visitors in the Chapter House. The Cathedral offers a warm welcome to the 250,000 pilgrims and tourists who visit each year to marvel at the peace and beauty of the 750 year old building and admire Britain’s tallest spire.

The Hotel consists of 20 bedrooms and is located in the heart of Salisbury, just a few minutes’ walk from the Salisbury Cathedral, shops, restaurants and local attractions. We are just 20 minutes’ drive from Stonehenge and the rolling countryside of Wiltshire, with all its historical gardens, houses and walkways. All of this makes us a great tourist destination. We are also a great business stop-over as we are located 5 minutes from the Salisbury train station, 40 minutes from Bournemouth or Southampton airport/docks and 50 minutes from Portsmouth harbour. Sundays and throughout the week, we offer a quiet, relaxed environment. At the weekend, the very busy bar on the ground floor is open until 2am and offers DJ entertainment and is part of the Salisbury nightclub circuit. You will hear bar or street noise in some of the hotels rooms at weekends. Please make sure you book for the right experience, weekdays quiet and relaxed, weekends lively, busy and possibly noisy until 2.30am. The hotels bedrooms do not have telephones or air conditioning, however, they have been fully refurbished in a contemporary style and offer lots of extras you would not expect from accommodation with a hotels rating of 2 star, -free wifi, 22-inch flat-screen TVs with Freeview, plentiful tea, coffee and hot chocolate supplies. All bedrooms are accessible via stairs or an original wood-panelled passenger lift. All rooms have ironing boards, hairdryers, ceiling fans, a small safe and a high standard of towelling and linen. There are heated towel rails in all bathrooms. Parking is just two minutes away at pay and display car parks. (Loading bay at the hotels entrance for check in/out.) We have a selection of adjoining rooms to suit families or groups, along with a selection of double rooms with king sized beds or single rooms. Our bedrooms are all very comfortable to relax in, after a stroll around the historic City of Salisbury or after dining in our restaurant. You can enjoy breakfast from 7.30am until 10am Monday to Saturday and from 8am until 10am on Sunday. Food is available all day until late, with a range of traditional English fare including locally sourced steaks, burgers, homemade pies and great fish and chips.

We have a full range of courses available, both fully certificated and purely leisure based. Fully certificated courses are available through our franchise arrangement with South Cheshire College, whilst non-certificated courses are available through our own independently run Sandbach School range of leisure courses. Our aim is to provide an enjoyable and educational experience for all our students and with this in mind we strive to keep course open, even with smaller numbers.
