Our aims are to support local producers, reduce food miles and support Fair Trade. We are always happy to source hard-to-get ingredients, and as we order on a weekly basis, we can usually supply you within a week of your order. We can make up hampers to your requirements, and also sell gift vouchers. We stock a wide range of wholefoods – organic and fairly traded wherever possible – over 40 varieties of local cheese, delicatessen items and our range of items for special diets includes Genius bread, gluten free breakfast cereals, biscuits, crackers, pasta, ice creams, chocolate, snacks, sauces and jams. Local products include Cumberland Mustard and Moorlands Candles – both made in Alston; bacon, pancetta, cold meats and salamis from Shaws Meats and Slacks; jams and pickles from Wild and Fruitful, Claire’s Handmade and Friendly Food and Drink; soaps and lotions from Alnwick Apothecary and Essential Spirit; Indian sauces and chutneys from Mr. Vikki and Trees Can’t Dance; ice creams and sorbets from Beckleberrys, Cream o’ Galloway and Doddington Farm; flours from The Watermill and Gilchester Farm; oils and condiments from Uncle Roys; soft drinks from Fentimans; fruit cordials from Thorncroft; honey from Chain Bridge and Nook Farm; garden plants and herbs from Pennine Perennials. Our local cow, goat and sheep cheeses come from Thornby Moor Dairy, Appleby Creamery, Doddington Dairy, Wardhall Dairy, Birdoswald, Northumberland Cheese Company and Shepherd’s Purse Creamery. We also stock a variety of premium cheddars, Stilton, Wensleydale, Cheshire, Parmesan, Manchego, Swiss Gruyère, Jarlsberg, buffalo mozzarella, feta and haloumi. Other products include organic yoghurt, goats’ milk, cream and butter; dried herbs and spices sold by weight; organic and herbal teas; single variety coffees; a selection of non-dairy milks and ice creams; an extensive range of Far Eastern products; chocolate and snacks; vegetarian and vegan products; fruit juices and soft drinks; and a selection of fresh seasonal herbs and spices. Our main supplier delivers on Thursdays, with orders taken up until 2pm on Wednesdays; other suppliers deliver fortnightly. Discounts are available on bulk orders.
